Last updated: July 5, 2021

Note: This application guide contains information for fall 2022 admission.

The Ontario Medical Schools are committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Based on the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada guidelines on the Future of Medical Education in Canada, schools should recruit and select students who are representative of the Canadian population and address barriers to medical education.

In order to fulfill this goal and to evaluate Ontario MD programs, we are asking applicants to provide us with information on demographic markers such as gender, sexual orientation, race and socioeconomic status.

This information will help us understand the relationship between our application process and the demographic make-up of our applicant pool to identify any unconscious bias in the admission process and to monitor any programs implemented to address any bias.

This information is being collected solely for the purpose of program evaluation and is not used in the selection process.

You can select the “Prefer not to answer” response option for each question if you choose not to provide your equity-based personal information.
