What is the difference between a provisional and a firm acceptance for a rehabilitation sciences program?

A provisional acceptance means that you can indicate that you want your applications to other universities (within the same discipline) to remain active. However, if you accept an offer for 1 discipline and receive an offer for a second, you must choose between the 2. You cannot hold 2 acceptances (firm or provisional) at 1 time.

A firm acceptance means that you will be removed from the wait lists of all other choices (in the same discipline) on your application.

I have just accepted an offer online and “Unsubmitted Acceptance” appears under “Applicant Response”. Have I done something wrong in accepting the offer?

“Unsubmitted Acceptance” appears on the “Choices/Offers” screen after you click on an offer and accept it. At this point, you have accepted the offer but have not submitted the acceptance to the OUAC.To properly accept the offer of admission, click “Review and Submit” and complete the submit process. You will receive a confirmation number by email along with a summary of your responses to offers of admission and/or changes to your application information. Keep this email for your records….

When do provisional acceptances become firm?

All provisional acceptances for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology programs automatically become firm on May 2, 2023.

All provisional acceptances to Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy/Physiotherapy programs automatically become firm on June 7, 2023.
