General Admission Requirements

Before you apply, you must read all the information about the Teacher Education program provided on our website.

Once we receive your application from the OUAC, we will send you an acknowledgement email that includes a user ID and password to a uoZone account, where you will access the Statement of Experience, which you must complete and submit online.

If you have chosen French as a Second Language as a teaching option, you can also register and pay for the French proficiency test in this account.

Equity Admission

Spaces in our Access Program are reserved for the following groups:

  • Indigenous peoples (2%),
  • persons with disabilities (3%) and
  • members of visible minorities (9%).

Specify the group you identify with at the end of the online Experience Profile.

Language Requirements

If you have studied in a country where English is not an official language and have not completed at least 3 consecutive years of full-time studies in English (or have not completed an English 4U course in Ontario), you must pass one of the following tests (within the 2 years prior to enrolling in the program) with the minimum score below:

  • TOEFL: Internet-based test with a minimum of 24 in each of the 4 skills
  • IELTS: Minimum of 7.0 in each of the 4 skills
  • PTE TEST: Minimum of 65 in each of the 4 skills

French as a Second Language (FSL)

Whether you are francophone, or have studied in French or French immersion, our FSL test is mandatory for everyone, without exception. No other exam can replace it.
