Group A Admission Requirements

As one of Canada’s top undergraduate universities, Trent is a destination of choice for all Ontario high school students.

Am I a Group A applicant?

Group B Admission Requirements

All Group B applicants must submit a non-refundable document evaluation fee of $70 in their OUAC Undergraduate application when they apply to Trent.

Canadian High School Students From Outside of Ontario

We are home to a large community of students from provinces outside of Ontario.

Home-schooled Applicants

We are committed to alternative forms of education and the contributions that home-school experiences bring to our university.

International Applicants

Transfer Students

Supporting Documents

English-language Requirements

We are an English-language university, and it is important to your success at Trent that you are proficient in both spoken and written English.

All students must demonstrate a command of English sufficient to meet the demands of classroom instruction, written assignments and participation in tutorials and discussions.

If you do not meet our English-language requirements, you may be eligible for our English as a Second Language program.

Extenuating Circumstances

If you have experienced extenuating circumstances that affected your academic performance, you may submit a Students with Extenuating Circumstances form.

If you are applying under the Mature Student category, you should submit a Supplementary Application for Mature Students form.

Scholarships, Bursaries and Financial Aid

We believe in rewarding academic excellence and making transformative educational experiences financially accessible for all.

Guaranteed Entrance Scholarships

If you are a top scholar with an average of 80% or higher, you qualify to automatically receive an entrance scholarship to Trent. Scholars with 95% or higher? You earn free first-year tuition – no application required.

And it’s not just a one-time thing. Our national entrance scholarships are renewable each year when you maintain an 80% average in 5.0 Trent credits (or 3.0 credits through an accessibility accommodation). This can really pay off – with a total scholarship potential of more than $18,000.

Offers of Admission

Admission Decisions

All our admission decisions are posted in both your OUAC Undergraduate application and myTrent portal account.

You can check your myTrent portal account to view your application status updates at any time.

Transfer Credit Assessment

The Admissions Office will evaluate applications for transfer credits during the admission assessment and will assign credits at that time.

We may request course syllabi for any course we have not previously evaluated for equivalencies.

The Student Wellness Centre provides holistic and integrated support, and consists of Counselling, Health and Accessibility Services.

Upon acceptance to Trent, some action may be necessary in advance to accommodate your needs.

Campus Tours

Guided campus tours are offered 6 days a week at both of our campuses.

Led by current Trent students, our in-person tours provide the opportunity to explore the architecturally stunning buildings and sweeping riverside views at our Peterborough Campus or the spaces and places that make our modern Durham GTA Campus so welcoming.

Open House

Experience our campuses for yourself and start to picture life as a Trent student at our in-person Open House events held each fall and winter.

Open House is your one-stop shop to discover all things Trent: Academic programs, career-boosting experiential learning opportunities, student life, and the social scene on and off campus.
