Home / FAQs / Application Process / What ID do I use to sign up for my CASPer test?

I am trying to sign up for my Casper test, but I don’t have an OMSAS or ORPAS Reference Number yet. What number can I use instead?

If you are applying only to Ontario schools, you can write Casper only on the Ontario dates.

  • Acuity Insights strongly recommends you reserve your test at least 3 days before your preferred Casper test date and allow time for ID verification and payment processing. Some applicants reserve their tests weeks or months in advance.
  • Last-minute bookings are not recommended or guaranteed.
  • Refer to their FAQ “Do Test Dates Fill Up?” for more information.

If you are taking the Canadian Professional Health Sciences Casper test prior to the OMSAS or ORPAS application deadline(s), you can add these schools to your distribution list using this temporary ID placeholder: 800000.

  • You must update this number later when you receive your OMSAS or ORPAS Reference Number.
  • You will receive your OMSAS or ORPAS Reference Number when you submit and finalize your application through the OUAC after the OMSAS or ORPAS application deadline.
  • Your distribution list is on your test record, on the Reservations page. To add to your distribution list, select the pencil icon, and then “Schools” and “Submit Payment” to confirm your additions.

Make sure to use the same information (e.g., name and email address) as on your program application.
