Refer to the application and the university's website for up-to-date program details.

Ontario medical schools are committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Based on the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) guidelines on the Future of Medical Education in Canada, medical schools should recruit and select students who are representative of the Canadian population and address barriers to medical education.

To fulfill this goal and evaluate Ontario MD programs, the Ontario medical schools are asking applicants to provide them with information on demographic markers such as sexual orientation, race and socio-economic status.

This information will help them understand the relationship between their application process and the demographic make-up of their applicant pool to identify any unconscious bias in the admission process and to monitor any programs implemented to address any bias. This information may also be shared with AFMC for research in medical education.

You may select the “Prefer not to answer” response option available for each question should you choose not to provide your diversity-based personal information.

This information is being collected for the purpose of program evaluation and for research in medical education, and is not used in the selection process.
