I want to apply to an admission point other than fall but only fall admission is listed. What should I do?

Application Type:

The universities have supplied the OUAC with the admission points available for each program. You will need to contact them directly to verify whether they offer admission points other than those listed. If they offer other admission points, they will either indicate to you that they will change your file once they have received your application information or they will contact the OUAC to have their university-specific information changed to include the other admission points…

I’m a Group A applicant and I will finish my OSSD (including six 4U/M courses) at the end of January. Can I begin university studies then?

Application Type:

Yes, a few Ontario universities offer programs that begin in January or May. You must apply for admission to these programs by the stipulated deadline dates. Those universities whose winter term programs begin in January will normally require that you complete your OSSD, including six 4U/M courses…

I’m a Group A applicant taking a summer school course, and my friend is upgrading (or repeating) a course. Will this affect our admission?

Application Type:

If you are a Group A applicant taking a summer school course, the delay in the university receiving your summer school results may affect your admission. If the summer school course you are completing is your sixth 4U/M course, the universities may not offer you admission until this course is completed and they receive your marks.

I’m a Group A applicant. I transferred to a different school after first semester (or halfway through the school year). Who informs the OUAC and the universities about this change?

Application Type:

If you are a Group A applicant, apply for admission while at one school and then transfer to a different school, your new school must advise the OUAC of this change. Your new school will provide the OUAC with their name and school number (MIDENT), your new Secondary School Student Number (SSSN), if applicable, and your Ontario Education Number (OEN). The OUAC will then notify your university choices of this transfer.

I’m attending high school outside of Ontario. In the Activities and Employment section of the application, it says to list my extracurricular activities from the time I completed high school to the present, but it also says if I don’t complete this section, my application assessment may be delayed. What do I do since I’m still in high school?

Application Type:

In this situation, it is fine to leave the Activities and Employment section blank. You will get a warning message about this during the Review and Payment step, but you can ignore it; the universities require this information only from applicants who are not currently attending high school.

My application says I have to pay using CIBC Student Pay. Can I pay for my application if I don’t have a CIBC bank account?

Yes, you can. You do not need to go to a CIBC branch or have a CIBC bank account to use CIBC Student Pay in your application. You can make Canadian and international payments with this service. The payment options available in CIBC Student Pay depend on the country you are paying from.

The TEAS Application Guide states that I must request my transcript(s) using the TEAS online transcript request. Where can I find this?

Application Type:

The TEAS online transcript request is mandatory for transcripts from Ontario universities, and optional for Ontario college transcripts. You must complete both the Academic Background and Program Choices sections, then click on the Transcript Requests section of the application. Ensure that you enter any former surnames in the Personal Information section of the application, as this information may be necessary to match your transcript request with your application. Transcripts other than those from Ontario universities must be ordered by contacting the Registrar’s office directly. These transcripts should be sent directly to the appropriate Faculties of Education…
